If you are a��new or returning student, you need to complete a student orientation, assessment, and student educational plan to obtain early registration.

• Student Orientation:��Log on to your My�������ϲ����Ͽ� account and click on "Student Support" under����to access the online orientation.
• Assessment: Counselors will help place you��in appropriate English and math courses. This is primarily by your high school performance (grade point average and courses taken).
• Comprehensive Educational Plan: Counselors will help you develop a��four-semester plan based on your educational goals.

If you are a��continuing student, you are encouraged to develop a comprehensive educational plan with a counselor after completing 15 units of coursework.  Your enrollment priority is based on the number of completed and in-progress degree-applicable units you've taken at any of our colleges, as long as you have not been placed on academic or progress probation or more serious academic sanction for two consecutive terms and have not earned more than 90 units. Transfer units are not used to calculate enrollment priority.��

If you are a dual enrollment student, you need to complete a.�� Your high school high school principal/designee�� and parent/guardian's email must approve the courses before it can be processed by Admissions & Records.����

• Home school students need to submit a Private School Affidavit and attach it to the .��

• Students 8th grade or��lower must request instructor permission prior to registering.��

• When your dual enrollment packet is approved, you will receive an email to your My�������ϲ����Ͽ� confirming the course is approved for registration on or after your registration date.��

Your specific registration date and time are available in the My�������ϲ����Ͽ� student portal.��

Priority registration appointments are assigned based on the following criteria and in the following order:

1. Priority as defined by statute for

• CalWORKS students
• EOPS students
• DSPS students
• Foster youth and former foster youth
• Homeless students
• Military veterans and active duty personnel

2. Students currently participating in��

• Athletics, beyond your��first semester as verified by a designated athletics counselor
• First-Year Experience����
• Federal TRIO programs��
• Associated Student Government,��elected and appointed officers from each college as verified by the Associated Students advisor

3. Continuing students with 76-90 units*��in good academic standing.

4. Continuing students with 45-75 units*��in good academic standing.

5. Continuing students with 30-44 units*��in good academic standing.

6. Continuing students with 15-29 units*��in good academic standing.

7. Continuing students with 1-14 units*��in good academic standing and Middle College Special Admission high school students.

8. New students who have completed orientation, assessment, and an educational plan and returning students who have not attended in at least one year, have completed fewer than 90.5 units, are in good academic standing in the �������ϲ����Ͽ�, and have completed orientation, assessment, and an educational plan.

9. Open registration for all students (excluding Special Admission students), including:

• All students who have been placed on academic or progress probation or more serious academic sanction for two consecutive terms unless you successfully appeal to have your enrollment priority reinstated based on verifiable extenuating circumstances.
• New and returning students who choose to be exempt from participating in orientation, assessment, and/or the development of a student educational plan (see Exemption information above).
• Continuing and returning students with more than 90 units unless you successfully petition to have your enrollment priority reinstated.

10. Other Special Admission high school students not associated as Middle College and other concurrently enrolled minors.

Priority registration is lost when you have been on academic and/or progress probation for two consecutive semesters, or when you accrue more than 90 completed units of degree applicable coursework – accumulated from �������ϲ����Ͽ� only (in-progress units are included).

If you're a continuing student who has earned more than 90 units, you will lose your enrollment priority and will register during open registration unless you successfully petition for a waiver that reinstates you to your previous enrollment priority.

Make a counseling appointment to initiate the��petition to appeal loss of enrollment priority. You may petition to reinstate your registration priority if you are enrolled in a high-unit major, program of study, or high-unit transfer major or are registering for your last semester at our colleges.��

You may be able to appeal your later registration appointment for the following reasons:

1. Final Semester—Approval will be based on your educational plan completed by the academic counselor.

2. Enrollment in a High Unit Major or Program—Approval requires you to have declared a program of study in a major that is identified as a “High Unit Major.”��Approval will be based on your educational plan completed by the academic counselor.

3. Academic and/or Progress Improvement—You must demonstrate significant academic improvement by achieving a minimum grade point average of 2.0 or higher and completing a minimum��of 50% of your units in the current term.

4. Untimely Accommodation—You must have a disability and did not receive the accommodations you applied for in a timely manner.

5. Extenuating Circumstances—Approval is based on verified evidence of circumstances beyond your control. This could include��death of an immediate family member, accident, serious illness, or eviction.

You must provide documentation, such as medical documents, death certificates, police reports, and court documentation. To appeal your registration date, you must meet with a counselor.

Abbreviated Educational Plan:��Identifies the courses a new student will take in their first one or two semesters. The plan may be developed by a student with or without the help of an academic counselor, and is not approved by a counselor.

Abbreviated educational plans are required for all new non-exempt students; however, a comprehensive educational plan will also satisfy this requirement.

Comprehensive (Active) Educational Plan:��Identifies the courses a student must take to complete their informed program of study and reach their educational goals. The plan is generally at least two semesters long, and ideally will be long enough to identify everything a student must do to achieve their educational goal.

Good Academic Standing: Defined solely for purposes of assigning enrollment priority as a student who has not been placed on academic or progress probation or more serious academic sanction for two consecutive terms.

Students who are on probation for two consecutive terms will lose enrollment priority for the next term.

Informed Program of Study:��Degree, certificate or transfer program of study that a student declares after completing 15 units of college coursework. The informed program of study is the basis for a student’s comprehensive educational plan.

Primary Semesters: fall and spring

The California Community College Board of Governors unanimously approved changes that established system-wide enrollment priorities. These changes were implemented in fall 2014 and are designed to ensure classes are available for students seeking associate degrees, transfer, or job training, and to reward students who make steady and efficient progress toward their educational goals.
